Home Remedies for Warts
The number of home remedies for wart removal is quite extensive. Quite a number of home remedies have been passed down from generation to generation. The effectiveness of some of these items however, is unproven. But with that said, many people claim these substances successfully removed their warts.
Duct Tape Occlusion
Home removal of warts through the use of duct tape is well documented. Even doctors and dermatologist will admit to the effectiveness of duct tape occlusion. Besides duct tape, a good quality waterproof medical adhesive tape, such as what a doctor would use to secure a bandage in place, can also be used.
Start by taking a piece of duct tape that is slightly larger than the wart and place it over the wart. Firmly press the tape down sealing the wart under it. The the tape in place for six days without removing it. Next, remove the tape in soak the wart in warm water for 20 to 30 minutes. Then take a small piece of pumice stone or Emery board and gently but firmly debride it. Continue to repeat this process until the wart comes off. Do not share the pumice stone or Emery board with anyone else and discard them after the wart removal is complete.
This process is thought to work by causing an irritation that your body recognizes as an infection, causing your immune system to kick in and fight off the infection.
Apple Cider Vinagar
Apple cider vinegar has been used as a home remedy for many different types of ailments. Some people claim to have effectively removed their warts by using Apple cider vinegar.
